NOTEBOOK: Pittman savors trip to Plains
AUBURN Sherrod Pittman may be two months away from his junior season, but that hasn't slowed the rush of interest from major-conference programs.
Florida State offered before his sophomore season. Auburn was second in line -- offering last October and re-affirming its interest earlier this spring.
Pittman earned himself some one-on-one time with defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson Sunday afternoon after turning in another strong performance at the Tigers' first summer camp.
"Honestly, I thought I did great overall," said Pittman, who plays at First Coast High in Jacksonville, Fla. "There are some things I learned, some drills I'll take with me and work on at the house. The coaches here were real cool as far as teaching me things, helping me get better. They've shown me a lot of love."
