Hey guys. I am a rivals staff member and I will be hitting the road on most Friday Nights. This past friday I was in Lawrenceville for the Peachtree Ridge vs. Newnan game. Make no mistake, there was a ton of talent on the field.
Peachtree Ridge got off to a great start as they returned the opening kickoff past midfield and punched it in on a 10 yard TD run by Di'Andre Atwater. The Lions grabbed their second score on a 48 yard TD catch and run by Joe Horn Jr.
Newnan responded with a long, time consuming drive that ended in a field goal to cut the lead. That helped them grab some momentum as they got the ball back and were carried by the play of Clinton Dicks in route to their first TD of the game.
The second half was all Peachtree Ridge. Di'Andre Atwater added two more unanswered scores to make the game 28-10.
Newnan added a late touchdown to Cody Darracotte to make the score 28-16 and thats where it stood.
Players of note for Peachtree Ridge were Atwater and Horn along with Alex Gray(DB), Alex Jauregui(OT), and Ray Buchanon Jr.
Players of note for Newnan were Tray Matthews (DB-15 tackles 1 sack and 1 TFL) and Clinton Dicks.
