Another Douglass star to watch

Dennis Montgomery is another standout prospect from Frederick Douglass High in Atlanta that is attracting interest from colleges. The 5'11, 210-pound linebacker could see offers arrive soon after getting his ACT results back. He talked with GaVarsity.com about schools showing interest and which schools he likes.
"The last mail I got was from Wisconsin," he said. "I just took the ACT. I have to wait for my scores to come back from that. I was supposed to go down to Auburn last weekend for a visit but I had to take the test so I didn't get to go."

Other schools like East Carolina, Kentucky, South Carolina State, Eastern Kentucky, and Middle Tennessee State have been by the Atlanta school to check on the stud linebacker and he feels the results from his ACT score could be the main thing holding them back from offering.
Montgomery plans to hit the road with his fellow highly-touted teammate, three-star linebacker Jonathan Atchinson.
"Me and Atchinson suppose to go to Central Florida," he said. "I know they're (teammates) going to North Carolina this weekend but I don't know if I'm going because I got SAT classes now."
He talked about some of the things he'll be looking for in his future college home.
"Really just the atmosphere, what school can provide me with the best education, and really just the chance to compete," he stated.
Montgomery stated that he has interest in Georgia, Clemson, and Louisiana Tech but felt compelled to place the school showing him the most interest high among his list of favorites as well.
"Out of all the schools [Wisconsin] is the most interested in me. They sent me my first mail and they be sending me the most. I feel like I got to put them up there," he shared.
At 5'11, 210 pounds, Montgomery realizes he's not one of the biggest linebackers and says he would welcome the move to safety on the next level.
He talks about his strengths as a defender.
"I'm a good team leader," Montgomery stated. "I'm very physical. I like to take on the block before I make the tackle. From the safety position I can cover good. I can come up to the line really as a rover — that's what I really want to play — strong safety; at the same time as far as covering then come up to the line because I'm very physical."
