He just got back from Niceville, Fla., where his high school team competed Thursday and Friday in the Battle of the Bayou passing camp. GAVarsity.com spoke with Brown about his recruiting process.
"Troy seems to be very interested in me," said Brown. "They came down to visit and I talked to them on the phone. We had give them some of my film and they loved it. I've talked to coaches from Florida State, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Wofford. I mean there's a lot of coaches out there that's been calling."
Brown is looking forward to getting his first offer. The speedy running back says it's still too early for him to start naming favorites.
"I can't really sit here and say I like this team or I like that team," said Brown. "I mean I like all the top notch teams. I like Georgia, Florida State, Miami, Georgia Tech, and all those Division I schools. I like them all. I don't have a pick or choose. I just want to go to a school where I have the best chance of playing."
At 5-foot-8, 170-pounds, Brown is a physical back with 4.4 speed and a 34-inch vertical leap. He is also a quality special teams performer.
"I'm working hard trying to get even better than last year," he said. "I want to get faster, stronger, and I want to see the field better. I already see it, but I want to see it better. There is always room for improvement. I just want to improve on everything that I do."
The Bainbridge Bearcats will begin three-a-day practice sessions on Monday.
"We're pretty much a young team," said Brown. "We're just going to have to go all out. Everybody's young except for me, so I've got to be a leader on and off the field. We're going to have to work hard to get better and then go out there and get it done."
Brown has not been to any individual camps this summer. Stay tuned to GAVarsity.com for more updates on Bainbridge running back prospect Mike Brown.
